Virginia’s View Challenge #22 (Summer Challenge)

Virginia's View Challenge #22 (Summer Challenge)

imageThe new Virginia’s View Challenge is All About Color.  Specifically we need to do one or more of the following…

~color-layering with our multi-step color layering stamps
~build a rainbow
~ink-blending with at least 3-4 colors
~coloring with watercolor, Copics or color pencils OR
~anything that involves multiple colors/coloring

The rules leave us with a lot of room to play!  I have been playing with Ellen Hutson and Winnie & Walter stamps the last couple days… and still have them on my desk… so here is one more!  My goal for this card was to use all the colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple) and NO WHITE SPACE (lots of color!).  I used Copics and Distress inks to achieve my goal.

I began by stamping and embossing all the images on an A2 panel. Masked the top half of the panel and distressed the bottom third in shades of green.  I masked the bottom and the images, then distressed the top two-thirds in mermaid, and stenciled clouds over the distressing with blueprint sketch.  I copic-colored the animals and balloons.  I added spots to the hippo with a Uniball white pen.  I used a stitched frame to trim the A2 panel, and then adhered it to an A2 card base. The final touch was the addition of glossy accents to the balloons.

Supplies:  Winnie & Walter Kindness, Ellen Hutson Wish Big, Rosie Roadshow cloud stencil, Mama Elephant Femme Frames, Uniball white pen, glossy accents, Copics, Distress ink
