This month at the Twofer Card Challenge, the keyword is SWEETS (anything containing sugar!). Remember we are making 2 cards with two different design layouts for two different occasions. I spent all day Sunday thinking about the prompt and trying to implement a design. Remember I am rusty! Finally, I decided to use Simon Says Spinning Circle die. Please understand that I bought this die because I saw a peppermint in the die. Now I have two candy (peppermint and lollipop) cards for Christmas and birthdays.
Design 1 Christmas: This die is not that easy to put all the little pieces back together. I die cut a circle (Hero Arts Infinity Circles), covered it in scortape, and assembled the little pieces. I crumpled a small piece of vellum on each side of the peppermint to resemble wrapping. I mounted the candies on Memory Box Christmas words 12×12 paper. I added a line of crystal Stickles to the edge of each piece for shine!
Design 2 Birthday: For the birthday card, I die cut and assembled another spinning wheel from pink, yellow and green. I attached a coffee stirrer to the back of the die-cut to create a lollipop; after mounting, I added a small ribbon bow and more Stickles. The lollipop is mounted on a card base that has been stenciled with clouds (Tumbled Glass distress ink with My Favorite Things cloud stencil) and a black clear-embossed sentiment (My Favorite Things Birthday Wishes and Balloons).0
