I am thrilled to be Guest Designer at the TicTacToe Challenge this week! Remember each week, we take our card inspiration from a 3×3 board. Choose a row, column, or diagonal of 3 elements… and work the elements into your card design. This week I chose the first column: HUG, INK BLENDING, and FRIEND. After finishing my card, I realized I also completed the top row… you will see why.
I began with the background of my card base. I ink blended 5 distress colors in rainbow order: Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet. The colors are distressed on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Once blended, I heavily spritzed the panel with water. I let the colors run together before drying the paper. I so love this smooth watercolor effect. As usual, I made a larger panel than needed. After trimming to A2 size, I have leftover scraps I can use on other cards.
From one of these scraps, I die-cut a heart using the smallest die from Essentials by Ellen Folk Hearts. Both the friend and hug sentiments are from Mama Elephant Hello Friend Wishes. The sentiments are stamped and heat embossed. The small heart is popped up with foam tape, and the final touch was a smattering of translucent sequins and jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
Please be sure to stop by the blogs of all the design team members and see the inspiration they offer… and leave a little love! I can’t wait to see your card creations in the gallery.
Thank you so much for popping by!0
