The Paper Players – PP463 – A Color Challenge from Laurie

4 months is a long time. I am truly rusty.  It took me nearly 6 hours to make this card…between procrastinating, actually remembering where all my “stuff” is located, and how to operate my camera.  Its a story for another post, but I overhauled my craft room in the last few months, purged and created lots of new space!

So my first card back to the challenging world of cardmaking is for The Paper Players.  This is truly a kind group of women…a safe space for cardmakers. Laurie is our host this week with a color challenge.  We are working with the generic colors of orange, gray, purple and black.  The colors scream Halloween and I obviously need a few cards for the holiday!  For the card above, I layered several fun Halloween papers and featured a wonderful oddball from Stamping Bella, colored with Copics (including gray and purple!) and fussy cut.  Note the drippy border is an old punch from Martha Stewart.

Ingredients:  Stamping Bella Oddball Skeleton, Martha Stewart Dripping Gore punch, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, Copics, Momento Black Tuxedo, clear embossing powder, miscellaneous patterned paper from stash

Welcome home, Elizabeth! What a fun way to make a comeback! Pairing patterned papers can make any cardmaker pause – you pulled it off perfectly, pal! LOL
I have a love affair with Stamping Bella – I spend hours watching Elaine Copic color – hoping her skills will magically be absorbed through my eyes!

    A really fun card! xx

How wonderful that your first foray back into card making is with us at The Paper Players Elizabeth – you have been missed! Love those fun papers and oh so happy skeleton!! A super Halloween card celebrating this week’s colours – here’s to many more cards (you’ll get quicker as you get back into it I’m sure, although I am often to be found procrastinating for hours on end – part of the fun of it!) Delighted that you played along with us over at The Paper Players this week!
