It is week 2 so we have a Color Challenge over at The Paper Players. This week, our challenge host, Laurie, is asking us to create cards using the colors Poppy Parade, So Saffron and Smokey Slate. Use colors close to those in the photo if you don’t use Stampin’ Up ink. Neutrals are also allowed as needed.
My card represents the first of MANY cards that I still need to made for Christmas… the mad rush is on! How are your Christmas lists coming? My shopping is done. I shop early because I hate the Thanksgiving crowds and would rather be with my family. My goal is to get the Christmas labels printed for my cards and all the wrapping done before I leave for my brother’s farm. Wish me well!
This card is entirely inspired from the colors. The POPPY die cut poinsettia was easy. It is popped up on the card with foam tape. When I realized I could use SAFFRON pearls for the flower center, another color down. SLATE was left and I used the gray in an embossed background and for the poinsettia leaves. The sentiment is stamped and embossed on vellum. All in all, an easy peasy card.
Supplies: Poppystamps Stitched Poinsettia Trio, Simon Says Stamps Clustered Leaves, Technique Tuesday Celebrate the Season, Essentials by Ellen Stitches Cover Plate, Versamark Clair (black), Hero Arts embossing powder, Stardream, vellum, Hero Arts pearls
