The Paper Players – PP411 – A Sketch Challenge from Jaydee

We have a Sketch Challenge over at The Paper Players!  This week, our challenge host, Jaydee, is asking us to create cards using a sketch with a diagonally broken background and a central element.  I made this card over Labor Day and was trying to eek the last out of the summer.  I truly love cookouts thus my hamburger-themed card.  The layered delight is from a pieced set by Papertrey Ink.  My background papers are in line with a cookout: grassy greens and red gingham.  For a clean diagonal, I covered the line with grosgrain ribbon.  The final touch were several small bee brads that I found while plowing through my stash.  Enjoy.

Supplies: Papertrey Ink King of the Grill, Simon Says dye ink, Memory Box 6×6 paper, Amuse Artstamps gingham coverstock, vellum, Stampin’Up ribbon, Eyelet Outlet bee brads

I just love that you actually have a hamburger stamp! How fun is that? Everything about your card just makes me smile Elizabeth. I especially love that gingham DSP, makes me want to fire up the BBQ right now. 🙂

  2. jaydee says:

Elizabeth, I love your hamburger sentiment especially with the gingham paper behind it. A wonderful representation of summer BBQs and a fabulous use of the sketch. Thanks for rocking my challenge this week

  3. Jan Clothier says:

Elizabeth, this card makes me wish I still had teenagers at home to give it to! It’s a fabulous stamp and I like the setting you’ve given it with the papers you’ve chosen, while the vellum circle gives the burger some subtle space to shine.

  4. LeAnne says:

Can I just say this card makes me go YUM! Did you know that Sept 18 was National CHEESEBURGER day?! If I wasn’t on a diet, I would have eaten one! Cute idea, cute card!
