The Paper Players – PP404 – A Theme Challenge from Laurie

We have a Theme Challenge over at The Paper Players!  This week, our challenge host, Laurie, is asking us to create cards using a humorous theme.  Not sure about all of you but I love the Funny Bones sentiments from Riley & Company!  I have a bunch of them.  I think I bought this sentiment because there is a grain of truth in it; anyway I haven’t had a chance to use it until now.  I paired the sentiment with a nail polish bottle from Alley Way Stamps.  Alley Way has unfortunately gone out of business (you may be able to find them on eBay).  The stamps would remind you of Paper Smooches (which I also love!) in that they are fresh and simple.

I stamped and embossed the nail polish bottle, colored in with Copics, and to make it pop! — I covered the bottle in crystal glitter and glossy accents.  I mounted the bottle on the base card, atop the white-embossed sentiment, and completed with sequins and crystals.  Enjoy.

Supplies: Riley & Company sentiment, Alleyway Stamps Ooh-la-la, Versamark, Versafine Clair, Hero Arts embossing powder, Copics, My Favorite Things sequins, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, Smooches crystal accents, Glossy Accents

More than a grain of truth in that sentiment Elizabeth – I love it! Perfectly fun and totally appeals to my sometimes dry sense of humour. I love the sequins and touch of sparkle too! What a great card for this week’s challenge.

Elizabeth, this is such a fun card! I love the pop of red, and the sentiment made me chuckle! I can’t wait to play along at The Paper Players this week…such a fun theme! Thanks for the inspiration!

Eliz this card may be simple, but it is simply perfect! Love your random smattering of sequins, and that sentiment is so true!
