We have a Sketch Challenge over at The Paper Players! This week, our challenge host, Claire, is asking us to create cards using the sketch to the left on our cards. I am not sure about everyone else but I find sketch challenges hard. Perhaps it is how I go about tackling the sketch. Usually I start with a stamp set I want to use and try to pull all the elements together from there. However I usually stumble on the layering, I am not good with choosing papers. I look at so many cardmakers and their patterned paper creations are wonderful! I envy them their skill. Practice makes better (maybe not perfect) so I continue to enter and toy with sketches. What type of challenges do you find the hardest?
For today’s card I started with the adorable MFT hula dancer (so cute!), stamped and copic colored. My focus patterned paper is a flamingo repeat design. The tag color pulled from the flamingo design and the sketch “lines” incorporated with washi tape, The final touches were bits of coordinating ribbon and lots of translucent sequins.
Supplies: My Favorite Things Polynesian Paradise, W+9 Timeless Tags, Versafine Clair, Hero Arts embossing powder, Copics, Doodlebug flamingo paper, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, washi tape (stash), May Arts ribbon
