We have a Color Challenge over at The Paper Players!  This week, our challenge host, Clair, is asking us to work with the following Stampin’ Up colorsHello Yellow, Strawberry Slush, Wild Wasabi and Pumpkin Pie.  Again I don’t have any Stampin’ Up materials so I used colors as close as possible from my paper stash.

This card is simple, but time-consuming to create.  I used Altenew’s new Spring Showers cover die.  I cut the cover die 5x, once from each featured color and once from Neenah white which I used as my base color.  I used Jennifer McGuire’s trick of adding a dryer sheet behind the image while die cutting to keep all the pieces in place.  I covered the back of the white die cut (void of pieces) with scortape and attached to the base card.  THEN it was a puzzle… I just inlaid the pieces from the various key colors.  Lots of fun to create.  I added a stacked sentiment in a slightly lighter shade of green.

Supplies: Altenew Spring Shower Cover die, Studio Calico Hello Script, Scortape, gold Smooches Accents

Wow, so much detail in this card, Eliz! I can see how time consuming it was, yet it must have been fun, like doing a puzzle. Awesome use of the colors.

What a labour of love! But so worth the effort, Elizabeth. This is so bright and so cheerful. What a fabulous ‘hello’ to get.

  4. Claire Broadwater says:

Elizabeth, this is so pretty and I know it took a very long time to create. You must have lots of patience to piece all these small pieces back in the negative spaces! It is stunning! You certainly rocked my color challenge this week! I hope you have a great week and I am sending you hugs! XX
