The most brilliant challenge ever is happening over at The Flower Challenge this month! We are casing Design Team members…I so love it! I am casing a woman who has taught me so much about being inky…Karen Dunbrook of Snippets. I have been reading her blog forever and truly appreciate her inky techniques! and her love of flowers!
Karen’s creation for The Flower Challenge features Distressed ink pulls and FOLDS… that is where she lost me. I sincerely tried and will try again. I just couldn’t seem to “fold” the watercolor paper…it was too thick. I cheated…sorry. I cut my panel at various angles and arranged as a collage. You can even see remnants of my folds (I should have been more careful trimming). I added the frame and inset the silhouetted flowers. Second mistake–I didn’t use Versafine for the sentiment and it appears dull. I always use Versafine and emboss in clear… this reminds me why. Still I LOVE the design and would definitely try this technique again. THANKS Karen!
