The Flower Challenge this month is asking us to “use a previous challenge” to inspire us. Interestingly, I failed to post the cards I made for the last two challenges, and thought about posting one of those. Instead, however, I have made a new card…I really do like making flower cards! I used the December 2016 Challenge #3 ‘Use an Older Stamp/Die or Stencil’. My die, which I used as a stencil, is Memory Box’s Chrysanthemum Collage (2016 release). I love how this card turned out and am disappointed my picture does not reflect the sparkle in the flowers.
I die cut the collage from a metallic white Stardream panel and lined the back with acetate after having traced the design on the card base. The tracing allowed me to lay down three different glitters in dark blue, aqua and powder blue on the card base prior to attaching the Stardream panel. Although the acetate detracts from my picture, it is wonderful for the receiver… no loose glitter and lots of sparkle.
Supplies: Memory Box Chrysanthemum Collage, Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday, Mama Elephant Happy Everything, Versafine Clair, Hero Arts embossing powder, Amy’s Magic fine glitter, Stardream, acetate0
