The Flower Challenge #10 ‘Embossing Heat/Dry’

The Flower Challenge #10 'Embossing Heat/Dry'At The Flower Challenge this month we are incorporating either heat or dry embossing into our flower images.  I decided to TRY something!  See what you think.  I heat embossed Concord & 9th’s flower bouquet onto gold foil!  Black Versafine with clear Hero Arts embossing powder.  The result is VERY SHINY!

OK… for honesty.  It took a couple trys.  One, the Misti is imperative, otherwise your stamp will slip around on the foil.  I also had to tape the foil down to the Misti pad because of the “slickness”. Two, use anti-static powder, otherwise you will have embossing powder all over the foil (it sticks to everything)!  Three, make sure your heat tool is really hot before you try to heat the powder, otherwise the foil just wrinkles up and melts! (That one really stumped me for awhile.)

The sentiment is die cut from black mirracard to further add to the shininess. I finished the card with a couple of sequins for just a hint of color on the black and gold.

Supplies: Concord & 9th Hello Lovely, Simon Says Stamp Hey Love, Versafine, Hero Arts embossing powder, Pretty Pink Posh sequins, My Favorite Things gold adhesive paper, Mirracard
