Day 2 of Online Card Classes Sparkle & Shine was all about FOIL. This exercise was a stretch for me. I tried so hard to get into foil when Jennifer McGuire was demonstrating it last year. I loved the look and elegance of foil. I had a Scotch laminator but just could never get the foil to “stick”. I gave away my supplies and my laminator assumed its old role–laminating stuff. So when I sat down to make this card, I was only able to find ONE piece of copper foil in my craft room in a pack of origami paper. Not ideal. I still decided to give the technique a try. I made my own foil paper by applying 1″ strips of Scoretape to the back of the 6×6 piece of copper foil. I then punched out my starfish for my starfish wreath. TIP: keep cleaner handy so your punch does not get gummy from the Scoretape. I burnished each starfish well after placing, and the starfish are bright and shiny. I added some gemstones to further extend the bling.
