So it is Christmas in July at One-Layer Simplicity. Rules are to create a one-layer card, that is a single layer of cardstock folded in half with minimal embellishments. I used the W+9 Holiday Hugs set with lots of distressing!
I started with my A2 card base, masking off the top two-thirds, I distressed the bottom third in chipped sapphire and black soot. When dry, I stamped and white embossed the sentiment. After removing the top half mask, I stamped and clear embossed the main image. I masked off the bear image and sentiment area to finish the background. Using the rolling hills dies from Taylored Expressions, I created two stencils from Polyshrink. I stenciled “snowdrifts” in broken China down the top two-thirds. I unmasked all areas and copic-colored the main image. The final touch was snowflake sequins.
