When I saw the MFT sketch challenge I knew I wanted to do a happy spring card…and when I saw the MFT color challenge, I knew I could combine the two challenges. The MFT colors this week are daffodil (although my picture looks yellowish green…it is bright yellow in actuality), sour apple, gumdrop green and biscotti.
The Happy die is fabulous in that you have a lot of control on the final size of the block. In this case I was able to size it to add in a half inch strip for the gumdrop green sentiment. For my three small embellishments, I made small daisies (with a punch), and a “dot” center. Happy Spring!
Note: I made the acrylic dots from pony beads. Bake vertical beads on parchment paper for 30 minutes @ 285°. Pony beads melt into perfect little domes. There are a number of You Tube videos on the process.
Supplies: My Favorite Things Happy die, Memory Box sentiment, Versamark, Hero Arts white embossing powder, Marvy daisy punch, acrylic dots (see above)0
