I love the theme this week at Jingle Belles. We are focusing on our Christmas goodies. This Penny Black stamp was given to me by a crafty friend. I am not sure it would be something I would have chosen by myself. It’s a great present because it expanded my card making thinking. I stamped and embossed the image on Bristol smooth cardstock. I colored in with Zig Clean Color markers. Next is my interesting mistake. After the image was dry, I thought the image was too “white” so I decided to distress with Antique Linen. I know distress inks react with moisture… what I forgot was that watercolors do too! The end effect is an interesting smudging of the watercolor image. The smudging seems to soften the image… and I like it a lot. The final touch was to inlay the image in a Stardream border.
