I think I took the Inspired By… challenge more literally than others this week. LOL. The theme is time to garden. My father is one of the most avid gardeners that you will ever meet. At 90, gardening is still my dad’s summer passion. He begins early by growing his plants from seed, in the basement, under grow lights. Then Dad moves the styrofoam crates of baby plants out into the sunshine until they are ready to be planted. His garden is large… and he runs between it and home several times a day because there is always something else to be done. This year, however, Dad had a setback. Until today, which was miraculously in the 80s, the northeast has been frozen. My dad lost more than half of his small seedlings… and has had to go back to Step 1 in the hopes of salvaging the garden this summer. I love my dad… and his passion.
I used Paper Smooches Green Thumb to create a card with all the fixings for gardening. Don’t laugh… but I had the HSN crafting special on while I was making this card. This viewing is a first for me, but I was scanning channels and I saw someone demoing the Scan n’ Cut. Interesting machine. But I learned something too! If you run vellum through a Zyron machine, you can attach to paper with no adhesive showing. I had to try it. The seed packets are actually covered in vellum… you can’t even tell! Great trick.
Supplies: Paper Smooches Green Thumb, Versafine, Versamark, Hero Arts embossing powder, StazOn (on vellum), Copics, Carte Bella 6×6 paper0
