First, let me offer all New Zealanders and Australians a special prayer of remembrance for ANZAC Day.

To take advantage of FUSION this week, I focused on the photo inspiration. I am working with the black silhouette against a red evening sky.  I used an old cameo stamp from Hero Arts called It’s A Parade.  I am unsure of its year, I found one used on eBay, but the stamp has been discontinued on Scrapbook.com.  I stamped the cameo in black, then masked a rectangle around the stamp.  I distressed the area around the stamp in Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick, and Festive Berries.  The sentiment is from Rosie Roadshow.  To finish, I die-cut a frame around the images with My Favorite Things Rectangle Frames.  I did this in order to straighten out the image area which was askew on the initial panel.  I mounted the image and its frame on a 110lb. card base.

I am also submitting this card to Retro Rubber, Anything Goes.  Thanks for looking.

You had me at silhouettes…but then I saw the reasoning behind your card and I was really touched! Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing it with us at Retro Rubber this week!

  2. Jan Clothier says:

Another beauty, Elizabeth! And thank you for the Anzac remembrance. It will be strange tomorrow morning for the dawn services and parades to not be happening. Instead, we can stand at the end of our driveways at 6am as a tribute. That striking silhouette against a dawn sky is made all the more striking by the width of the frame – fabulous design. Thank you for joining us again at Retro Rubber.
