The keyword at CASology this week is HEAL. Such an apt word for my return to card making.
Some cardmakers know my story, many don’t. The DT at The Paper Players have been hugely supportive over the last 7 months, and I can’t thank them enough for encouraging me to stay involved, one card a week. On Valentines’ Day, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Since February, there have been surgeries, weeks and weeks of chemotherapy, and now daily radiation treatments. During that time, in addition to the side effects of therapy, I dealt with an ulcer, kidney issues, pneumonia, the dog-napping of Quinn (my beloved goldendoodle), and my father’s passing. I stopped making cards, except for my weekly contribution to The Paper Players, in June. I literally reached a point in chemo that I couldn’t move, let alone find the energy to sit in my craft room. I hoped that the will and energy would return, and that I would want to make cards again. Now with only 13(!) radiation treatments to go… I am back. I am starting with my favorite challenges and I will see how it goes over the next few weeks. Thanks for listening.
Given my story, I hope you better understand my card. I am healing and I am fighting… with every hope that all will be good.
