This is the first week I am joining the Back to Basics challenge. I liked the challenge’s premise of reinforcing basic techniques. This week, we are creating shaped cards. I rarely create shaped cards, but it can be fun. I used a C&S die set featuring an owl. Since the dies are large, rather than mounting the image on a card, I created a stand alone owl. Each piece on the card is backed so no “ugly die backs” are visible. To create the card, I scored the back panel close to the ears, attached Scortape and adhered to the front panel. I was careful in the placement of additional pieces so the overall card size is still an A2 (4.25”x5.5”).
Supplies: Clean & Simple Build-A-Critter Owl, My Favorite Things For Owl You Do, Versafine Clair, Hero Arts embossing powder, Amuse Artstamps gingham cardstock, kraft
