So you would think that this week’s keyword at Addicted to CAS would be easy.  The keyword is Favorite Stamp.  The problem is I have so many stamp sets that I love.  Ultimately I turned to the numbers.  I use Mama Elephant’s In My Heart more than any other set (I didn’t count sentiment stamps). As I thought about it, it is true.  This is a fabulous set.  I love these small children.  You can pop them anywhere with a bold sentiment and “it” works.  Coloring them is easy…they are so small!

Today’s card is very CAS.  There are only two elements used: a die cut sentiment and one of Mama Elephant’s small children. However, time went into the preparation of the background paper.  The moon is cut from cardstock that has been sprayed with yellow, orange and gold Mister Huey sprays.  The base cardstock is distressed to resemble the northern lights.  First layer of distress inks were all bright colors, the second layer was chipped sapphire, applied heavily on the edges and higher in the middle. The last layer is Black Soot along the edges.  Finally thick white watercolor paint was flicked over the card to create stars.  Elements were then glued on.

Supplies: Mama Elephant In My Heart, Savvy Stamps Love You to the Moon, Versafine, hero Arts embossing powder, Distress ink, Kurtake watercolors, Mister Huey’s sprays, Copics

This card will also be used in a distress swap with my monthly card group.

I don’t know how cute and stunning work for adjectives on the same card but that’s the feeling I get, Elizabeth. Cute sentiment and little girl and a stunning ink blended background. Thanks for sharing this with us at Addicted to CAS.
