I am thrilled to be a GD this week at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  For this challenge, we are working with colors: PINK, PURPLE, and GOLD.  A great combination for Christmas!  My card is simple and could easily be mass-produced.  First I distressed a Bristol Smooth A2 panel with Wilted Violet, Abandoned Coral, and Tattered Rose.  After distressing, I heavily spritzed the panel with water.  I did not blot with a paper towel.  I let the colors run together and only dabbed the panel edges to prevent pooling.  Let dry (be sure the panel is dry!).  The panel was then heat embossed in Hero Arts gold.  The background stamp used was Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints.

The sentiment is from Neat and Tangled, and die-cut from gold Mirracard for lots of shine!  I mounted the sentiment on 30# vellum and fussy cut around the outline prior to mounting on the card panel.  The final touch was a line of gold paint along the bottom edge of the card base.  I used Pilot’s gold paint pen to easily achieve the edge.

Please be sure to stop by the blogs of all the design team members and see the inspiration they are offering… and leave a little love!  I can’t wait to see your card creations in the gallery.

Thank you so much for popping by!

I love the delicate rendering of the colors. Combined with the small embossed subjects and the gold it gives a very festive and elegant look to the card! Thank you so very much, Elizabeth, for being our guest designer at 52CCT this week. Rosi x
