Happy New Year!  Are you ready to jump back into making Christmas cards for 2020?  I am thrilled to be this week’s guest designer at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  We are working with the sketch to the right.  In looking at the sketch, I immediately saw Rudolph jumping from a rooftop.

First, I created my background.  Using My Favorite Things Snowfall Background, I white embossed the snow on blue cardstock and mounted the panel on my card base.  Next, I tackled the roof and roofline. The roof is a very thin piece of wood veneer.  Though not the product I used, check out the wood veneer adhesive sheets at Ellen Hutson.  The roof eave is the middle strip in the sketch.  I punched a line of icicles from blue glitter adhesive cardstock using a Martha Stewart punch and adhered over the wood veneer.

Second, I thought about the sentiment I wanted to repeat 3x.  Hohoho seemed perfect.  I used Walter and Winnie’s HOME die-cut, trimming off the “me” to create HoHoHo. I die-cut the Essentials by Ellen Leaping Deer from gold Mirracard for my central “star” image.  I didn’t use this deer in last season’s cards so it needed a little TLC.  I added a pink rhinestone for the nose.  The deer is foam mounted on the card base.

Easy peasy.  I am looking forward to seeing your creations from this week’s sketch!  Don’t forget to stop by each of the design team members for inspiration and to leave a little lovin’.
