2 Cards for Muse Christmasvisions MCV87

I am excited to be this week’s Guest Designer for Muse ChristmasVisions MCV87!  I love this challenge and try to play with every opportunity.  I can’t think of a better way to build my Christmas stash than with the inspiration of amazing card-making colleagues!
This past weekend the creative juices were flowing and I actually created five cards for the challenge.  I sent my two favorites over to Ardyth to let her choose, and instead, she thought we should use both cards for the challenge.  Maybe more inspiration, the merrier?  Think positive!

My first card is a little dark but it feels warm.  Memory Box’ pine tree is stamped on a white panel slightly smaller than an A2.  The background is distressed in pale greens out to dark blue. The sentiment is embossed first in gold, then slightly askew in white.  The panel was lined with gold paint.  I used a Pilot gold paint marker but Delicata would work as well.  The panel is mounted on a black A2 base, and clear gemstones randomly added.

My second card is much more joyful (hence the sentiment!). Memory Box’ Dazzling Snowflake was die cut from an A2 panel, set atop rose mirracard, and mounted on an A2 card base.  Simon Says snowflakes were die cut, layered, and mounted.  The sentiment and one of the snowflakes were die cut from rose glitter cardstock. Miscellaneous gemstones and sequins were added as a final touch.
As of this posting, there are 67 days until Christmas. Are your Christmas cards made? Join the Muse ChristmasVisions team and get into the spirit! The rules are simple:
  • Use the inspiration card as a starting point
  • Make a Christmas or winter-themed card, explain your interpretation and link back to Muse: ChristmasVisions.
  • Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member’s submissions.

I can’t wait to see your cards!  Thanks so much!

Congrats on another GD gig at MCV, Elizabeth. I can see why you could not choose between these two, since they are both beautiful in their own right. Love the traditional feel of the first one and the modern look of the second. I have almost completed all 80 or so Christmas cards for friends and family (YAY!), but I can always make some more.

Love these two cards – the two different styles really showcase your versatile talent! Can’t wait to see how everyone will be inspired! Thanks for being our Guest for this challenge!
